Riley's mom grew up on La Jolla Shores. His uncle has lived on Sunset Cliffs since the 1970s. Riley lives in Ocean Beach today, in the same zip code.
He was born in Poway, spent his childhood half in a wrestling room and half in the water at La Jolla, and built this method from nothing — broke, green, and 3,000 miles from home — before bringing it back to San Diego.
